3. Panel description 4. Measurement steps 1) Press the "Power" button to turn on the power 2) Press the "Range" key and select the maximum range If "----" is displayed, it indicates that the range is exceeded, select a similar high range. 3) Zero adjustment steps Set the range to "199u W/cm2" Flip the front of the probe back onto a table or other flat surface, with its back facing upwards. Press the zero button to make the displayed value zero. 4) Place the UV probe directly under the light source, and the UV value will be displayed on the LCD. 5) Data retention During the measurement process, press the "Hold" button once to lock the reading and display the "D.H" symbol on the LCD Press the 'Hold' button again to cancel the data retention function. 6) Data recording (maximum/minimum read values) The data recording function displays the maximum/minimum read values. Press the 'Record' button to start data recording. The LCD displays the "REC" symbol. When the "REC" symbol is displayed a) Press the "Recall" button, and the "Max" symbol and the maximum reading value will be displayed on the LCD. b) Press the "Recall" button again, and the "Min" symbol and the minimum reading value will be displayed on the LCD. c) Press the 'Recall' button again to return to the data recording function, and the relevant symbols will disappear. 5. Measurement precautions Due to the structural limitations of UV probes, the output value of the probe may have a deviation of approximately 1% after one year, which is normal. The calibration cycle of the probe is one year. Due to the sensitivity of the probe (filter) to humidity changes, the storage environment is crucial. When not using this meter for a long time, please make sure to store the probe in a low humidity environment. For example, store the probe in a dry plastic bag. If stored properly, the lifespan of the probe will be greatly extended. According to the cosine law, under 30 degree incident light, the input signal of the UV probe is greater than 95%. At a 45 degree angle, it is>90%. So, the effective incident angle is 45 degrees, but of course, it is limited to within 30 degrees. When calibrating, the incident angle of the light should be 0 degrees (perpendicular).
6. Cancel/Auto Shutdown In order to extend the battery life, this meter has an automatic shutdown function. If there is no operation for about 10 minutes, the machine will automatically shut down To disable automatic shutdown, press "Record" during measurement and select the memory recording function.
7. Internal zeroing The zeroing steps in Chapter 4-3 are normal, but the adjustment range of the "Zero" key is only 20 digits. If the reading deviation of the internal zero exceeds 20 units, the "Zero" key will no longer function and will display: At this point, it is time to perform internal zeroing. The steps are as follows: 1) Turn off the power 2) Press and hold the "Zero" button, turn on the power until the LCD displays as shown in the following figure, and then release the "Zero" button. Upward display: Display the reading of internal zero Downward display: Always display "0000" 3) Adjust VR3 to display the read value back to zero. 8. Replace the battery 1) When "LBT" is displayed on the LCD, the battery must be replaced, but it can still be used for several hours after displaying low power 2) Open the battery cover and remove the old battery. 3) Install a 9V battery (006P, PP3 type) and cover the battery cover.
